WHAT IS GUP

I create mixed-media sculptures using a technique I developed I call Güp. Güp is a mixture of natural fibers and ingredients sourced from my local hardware store.

MY PROCESS

My process begins with soaking materials such as fabric, thread, mulch or newspaper in a Güp bath, then either shaping and manipulating the mixture within molds to obtain the desired texture or applying the mixtures to boards to create lively images.
